Southern Leyte in Philippines

Just returned from a week diving in Southern Leyte. The diving there is exceptional GOOD, highly recommended. I was diving and staying with Peter dive center, NO complaint. Southern Leyte is served by high speed boat twice daily from Cebu and takes 2hrs. Peter will pick you up at the terminal if he knows you are coming. The resort is about another hour away. You can dive or snorkel with the whale shark between Nov and May. But it is NOT guaranteed.

Is it a hassle to take the high speed boat from Cebu to Southern Leyte?
Any dive photos?

i've planned to go there last year, but because of sars and then cancel.

If you take the early flight from HK to Cebu (CX921/PR921), you should be able to catch the 5pm ferry from Cebu to Hilongos. Ferry operated by Ocean Jet at Pier 1 (P490 one way). Accommodation at Peter dive center is either native style cottage (P650 to P750) or single/double room (P300). Please contact Peter for details. I was too late for the whaleshark and they are quite rare nowaday. If you want to snorkel with whaleshark please go to Donsol in Bicol province in Southern Luzon in Mar/Apr. You are more or less guarantee to sight the largest fish in the world. There is no photo to show but one of the dive site in Southern Leyte has been voted by Asian Divers as one of the top spot in the world. I do agree with this selection and with justification. You have to see and believe it. This wall is a real gem.
